We're Hiring

Build the AI layer
powering real
businesses.

Operon is a small, technical team doing high-impact work. We move fast, ship production systems, and work with clients where the problems are real and the stakes are high. If that sounds like your environment, read on.

Ship, don't slide
We measure ourselves by deployed systems and client outcomes — not presentations, roadmaps, or internal tools nobody uses.
Precision over volume
We'd rather build one system that works perfectly than five that work okay. Quality and rigor are non-negotiable — especially when clients depend on the output.
Ownership by default
There's no hand-off culture here. You own the problem end-to-end — from scoping to deployment to monitoring. That means more responsibility and more impact.
Small team, real work
We're not a 200-person agency where you become a cog. Every person here has direct client exposure and meaningful technical contribution from day one.

5 open roles.

We hire for genuine ability, curiosity, and work ethic — not pedigree. If you can do the work, we want to talk.

Engineering New York, NY Full-time
AI Engineer
About the role
You'll be the person who actually builds the systems — multi-agent pipelines, RAG architectures, LLM eval harnesses, data ingestion layers. You work directly with clients and own the full technical lifecycle from scoping through deployment. This is not a research role. Everything you build goes to production.
What you'll do
  • Design and build production multi-agent AI systems using Claude, GPT-4, and open-source models
  • Build RAG pipelines, vector search infrastructure, and document intelligence systems
  • Write and maintain eval harnesses that measure system quality before and after deployment
  • Integrate AI systems with client data sources — CRMs, ERPs, databases, REST APIs
  • Own post-deployment monitoring, iteration, and quality improvement
  • Work directly with clients to understand workflow requirements and translate them into technical specs
What we're looking for
  • 2+ years of Python experience with a focus on building real systems — not just notebooks
  • Hands-on experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) and agentic frameworks
  • Comfort with async Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs
  • Experience with RAG, vector databases, or semantic search is a strong plus
  • You've shipped something to production that real users depend on
  • Strong written communication — you can document what you build and explain it to non-technical stakeholders

Operations New York, NY Full-time
AI Automation Consultant
About the role
This is the bridge role between client problems and Operon solutions. You'll run workflow audits, map operational processes, identify automation opportunities, and own the client relationship from discovery through delivery. You're technically literate enough to understand what we're building and sharp enough to translate it into business value for operators who don't care about the stack.
What you'll do
  • Lead structured AI opportunity audits with new clients — mapping workflows, systems, and bottlenecks
  • Define automation scope, prioritize by ROI, and create delivery roadmaps
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the engagement — from kickoff to go-live
  • Work closely with our engineering team to translate business requirements into technical specs
  • Run QA on delivered systems — verifying they solve the right problem before handoff
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships, identifying expansion opportunities
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years in operations, management consulting, revenue ops, or a similar analytical role
  • Comfortable using SQL or Python for basic data analysis — you don't need to be an engineer but you can't be afraid of data
  • Experience mapping business processes and identifying inefficiencies at the workflow level
  • Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and in client presentations
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and automation — you follow what's happening in the space
  • Prior experience at a startup or high-growth company is a strong plus

Engineering New York, NY Full-time
Data Engineer
About the role
Every AI system we build runs on clean, structured, real-time data. You'll be the person who makes that happen — designing and building the ingestion pipelines, data models, and integration layers that our agent systems depend on. This role sits at the foundation of everything Operon delivers.
What you'll do
  • Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting structured and unstructured data from client systems
  • Architect PostgreSQL schemas optimized for AI system queries and vector search
  • Build and maintain API integrations with third-party tools — Salesforce, HubSpot, QuickBooks, ERPs
  • Implement real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures where needed
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and monitoring across all client pipelines
  • Work closely with AI engineers to ensure data layers support downstream model requirements
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience — pipelines, databases, and API integrations
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with PostgreSQL in production
  • Python proficiency — you write clean, production-ready data pipeline code
  • Experience with REST API integrations across multiple third-party systems
  • Familiarity with pgvector or other vector databases is a strong plus
  • Experience with event-driven systems or streaming data (Kafka, webhooks) is a plus

Growth New York, NY Full-time
Growth & Partnerships Lead
About the role
Operon is growing and we need someone who can open doors — identifying the right clients, building relationships with operators and executives, and creating the partnerships that bring high-quality work to our team. You'll own the entire top-of-funnel: outbound strategy, inbound qualification, partner channels, and early sales conversations. You don't need to close technical deals alone — you need to get the right people in the room.
What you'll do
  • Build and execute outbound strategy targeting SMBs, scale-ups, and operators in key verticals
  • Qualify inbound leads from ads, content, and referrals — run initial discovery calls
  • Develop partnership relationships with agencies, consultants, and tool vendors who serve our target clients
  • Create case study content, LinkedIn presence, and outreach assets that generate warm pipeline
  • Hand off qualified opportunities to the consulting team with full context and a clear brief
  • Track pipeline metrics and iterate on what's working — you're data-driven about this
What we're looking for
  • 3+ years in a B2B sales, partnerships, or business development role — ideally at a tech company or agency
  • Strong written and verbal communication — your outreach gets replies
  • Technically curious — you can explain what we do clearly without being an engineer yourself
  • Existing network in SMB, operations, or finance is a strong plus
  • Comfortable with CRM tools, LinkedIn outreach, and basic analytics
  • Entrepreneurial — you identify the play and run it without waiting to be told

Engineering Remote (US) Full-time
AI Automation Engineer — Workflows
About the role
This is a remote-first role focused on the automation layer of our work — building the workflow systems, integrations, and orchestration logic that connect AI outputs to client tools. You're the person who makes things talk to each other. You're fluent in n8n, Make, or similar platforms, and you can drop into Python when the no-code layer isn't enough. You'll own entire automation workflows end-to-end across multiple client engagements simultaneously.
What you'll do
  • Build complex multi-step automation workflows connecting AI outputs to client tools via n8n, Make, or custom Python
  • Design and implement webhook-based event triggers, API integrations, and data transformation logic
  • Connect AI agent systems to CRMs, ERPs, Slack, email, and internal databases
  • Build monitoring and alerting systems so clients know when something needs attention
  • Document automations clearly enough that clients can maintain them after handoff
  • Collaborate async with the NYC-based team — you're reliable, communicative, and self-directed
What we're looking for
  • 2+ years building production automation workflows — n8n, Make, Zapier, or equivalent
  • Python proficiency for custom logic beyond what no-code platforms support
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON data structures
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, or similar tools
  • Highly reliable, async-first communicator — you keep the team informed without being asked
  • US-based and available for 4+ hour overlap with ET timezone
